A man has posted a video of himself, wearing a mask, walking down the street, in a swimming pool in Sydney, Australia.
The video has attracted hundreds of comments and been viewed more than 50,000 times.
The man was walking down Sydney’s busy Bondi Beach at about 6pm local time on Friday when he came across a pool, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation reported.
The pool was about 1.5 metres deep and had a hole in it.
The pool was covered in ice, with a number of other pools nearby.
The video shows the man entering the pool.
“I’m just really shocked by the fact that I walked in here,” he says in the video.
“It was a swimming hole, but I was able to walk in.”
The pool has been closed for about an hour while authorities work to investigate what happened.
The ABC said the video had attracted more than 300,000 views since it was posted on Thursday.ABC local news reporter Emily Bickford said it had been viewed almost 5,000,000 people had seen it, while Sydney’s ABC News 24 said it attracted more traffic than any other story from Friday morning.
“It was really quite shocking, I mean, people were walking around with their heads down,” Sydney resident, Nick Pritchard told the ABC.
“You could see a little bit of ice in the water and people were talking about the ice.”
A spokeswoman for Sydney’s NSW Health said the incident was under investigation.
“The incident has been referred to the NSW Police Service and the NSW Health Authority,” the spokeswoman said.
