The Seattle Aquarium has partnered with Seattle Waterfront Partners to build a new 4ft swimming pond.
The water is located at the northwest corner of Westlake and Second Avenue, near the former parking lot for the former HarborCenter complex.
The new pond is being called “Swimming Pond,” a nod to the city’s long-running slogan, “Seattle, We Want a Swimming Pool.”
The new pool is about three feet high, and the pool will feature four pool tables and a heated swimming area, as well as a retractable water slide.
The pool will be accessible from all sides, allowing people to enjoy the pool without having to navigate around the surrounding structures.
It’s located at 619 Second Ave NW, near Lake Washington.
Aquarium officials say the pool is expected to open in 2019.
