The world’s largest dog swimming ponds have opened in Delhi and New Delhi.
The Indian government said on Wednesday that it was opening four more such pools in the next five months.
The pools have been built by the Delhi-based Kalaas Foundation, a charity founded by a father and son, and which runs a rehabilitation centre for dogs.
The charity said the new pools would be able to accommodate around 1,200 dogs.
“They will be able get in to the pools and swim freely,” said Ashish Gavai, deputy director general of the foundation.
The two other facilities will be opened in New Delhi and the capital city of Pune.
The other three are in Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai.
The ponds are expected to open in late September.
