The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) says that it has received a flood warning for the state.
The department says that there is a potential for flash flooding, which could cause life-threatening injuries.
The storm surge from the storm is estimated at 30 feet and could reach the Gulf of Mexico.DEP spokesman Bob Smith said the agency was still assessing the storm surge and would make a determination once it had a better idea of the impact.
The state said that the storm could bring up to 5 inches of rain to portions of Miami Beach.
The storm surge is expected to hit the Gulf Coast at the end of the day, the DEP said.
If the storm passes, the storm will likely cause significant flooding in Miami Beach and surrounding areas.
